FAQ
General answers about money saved from cancellations, annual billing, and when to cancel.
What should I do with money saved from cancelled subscriptions?
The yearly figure on your cut list is an estimate of charges you might stop. Many people move that amount to a separate deposit account on the day the old subscription used to bill, so it is less likely to be spent from everyday money. A high-yield savings account is a deposit account that usually pays more interest than a standard savings account. Rates change and differ by bank. This answer explains the idea. It does not name a bank or tell you to open an account.
Is annual billing really cheaper?
Annual billing costs less per month only when you keep the service for the whole prepaid year and the discount is larger than twelve monthly bills. If you might cancel after a season, monthly billing can cost less in total. Enter both prices in the calculator and compare the yearly column before you switch.
When should I cancel a subscription?
Cancel before the next billing date. Check whether access continues until the period you already paid for ends. A charge that has already posted is usually not reversed by cancelling the same day. Keep the confirmation until the next statement no longer shows the renewal.
